week 1 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

[Brave... he kind of likes the sound of that, but he shakes his head quickly.]
Thanks, but... there was nothing brave about it. Trust me, if I weren't immune, I wouldn't have stood a chance against either of them. I don't have any superpowers or super-strength or anything.
[Skills: none.]
I just didn't want to see anyone else get hurt. It'd be nice if it could stay that way, after tomorrow, but... I doubt that's possible.

Maybe so but that's only if you really believe you're completely immune. It's not like anyone has tested it. [Have they? That would be kind of messed up.] You still did it despite that chance.
Maybe if everyone tries that hard in the future we can leave before someone else takes up this horrible game.

[UGH reasons why he doesn't like Vegeta. The list keeps growing.]
But... I hope you're right. I know it's a long shot, but I still can't help but think if we can all reach some kind of understanding, we'll be able to beat these motives.

Right! There's no reason for any of us to fight. No one here is in league with whoever is behind this so we should work together.

Yeah, I agree. I just...
I think after tomorrow, after we hear the culprit's reasoning... it's going to become a lot less black and white, you know? Even if it seems like a stupid reason to murder to me, it must have seemed worth it to whomever it was. This murder... it definitely wasn't an accident, and I don't think it was just a random kill for the sake of killing, either.

I guess that makes sense but... I think the only reason I could ever accept is self defense. I just can't believe whatever happened to Takao could count as that.
[Even if the murderer disagrees. Time being weird was hard but not that hard. Although if they get to leave for doing all this then maybe...]

[being from a murdercanon is Hard]
But it's definitely not self-defense. You can't stab someone multiple times with a syringe and call that self-defense. It was definitely premeditated, I think we can all agree on that.
The real question is why. Why Takao? Why that method?

But... I think no matter what, we're going to have to do our best tomorrow. I don't want to say it's for avenging him, but rather... to fight back and try to make sure nothing like this happens again.
