week 1 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

( And he sounds earnest at that. He's a sword that loves people so he wants to be the best sword he can be.
Speaking of normal, though... )
You're right. A lot of things aren't normal here.
( But he won't really elaborate on what he means by that right now. But there are enough unusual things going on that anyone can take a few guesses as to what he means. )

[ He can believe that. Loving people, wishing to have all the faith in them, and protect them, especially if you should see them in trouble. But he learnt that in the end, that only caused pain.
Yet, at Urashima's comment, he makes a pause. At least focusing on talking was better than dwelling upon it. ]
Especially how they're able to so easily keep us under their thumb, hm?

Ah.... ( Focus. ) Yes. I was thinking... the person here must be a really powerful sage like master.
( Nodding, )
... Maybe stronger...
( And he sounds ashamed to admit that because he really does adore his master. )
no subject
Possibly, although admittedly I do not know the full capabilities of your master. Their power seems to also put them on the level of a god or a goddess, concerning what they managed to pull and still keep it altogether.
[ It makes him concerned, because if there were someone who could rival the power of his own master, his goddess, then surely... they could do almost anything? This was despair-inducing. ]
Yet, surely... it cannot just be one person involved.

My master can turn spirits into people. ( And that sounds absolutely divine to Urashima. ) But the person here can change people into other things.
( Killers. Semi-mortal... )
There's the voice on the televisions... and Miss Miata. ( So that's two people? )
no subject
That is quite a powerful ability.
[ So far that's two people, however... ]
In the beginning when Miata was speaking with a few of the others, she did mention 'herself and the one running this show', seemingly to imply that there were at least two people altogether. Although, I would not be surprised if that were not exactly the truth, and there was another at the least.
[ That was the perfect time to listen into people's conversations and no one can fault him for it. ]
no subject
... Besides all of us.
( But yeah, Urashima's mind isn't even going there??? )
no subject
He takes a small pause. Perhaps he was just overthinking it. ]
Mm. If it were only two we at least could count involved it would make this slightly at least simpler.
Although, time will tell if we should ever discover the identity of Miata's superior.
