week 1 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 1 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim suspects         cast setting rulebook

Possibly to make sure he wouldn't wake up whilst he was being presumably dragged around after having been knocked out?

Perhaps the culprit would be unable to overpower him if he did wake up, so wanted to ensure that didn't happen...

I think, then, Sir Vegeta wouldn't be a very likely suspect.

He is a rather obvious suspect.

[ But he doesn't think it's him. ]

....However, if it were him he wouldn't need drugs to knock him out or overpower him, considering his power. He could overpower him easily with his 'super strength'. Even a human like Takao would have no chance against that.

I agree. I doubt he would have had little concern as to keeping him unconscious through just his own means.

Granted, I haven't seen the fighting capabilities of the other suspects...

Unfortunate.

But then, it must be someone with knowledge of these medicines, and what they do.

Do they need to know? Drugs are drugs - any normal human gets enough of them in their system and they can be killed.

It would not have struck me to make use of them, being unfamiliar with them myself.

It is not foolproof, of course, but I do believe someone more familiar would be more likely to think of such a thing.

All drugs have different effects on the human body. Some are stimulants, others are sedatives. But beyond that, the killer did not use medicine as a weapon, but rather as a means to an end.

If he had died from an overdose, perhaps it wouldn't be so relevant. But Selena is correct: the killer had to have some knowledge of medicine.

It may be a good idea to ask what world or land these medicines usually have an origin from.

It may not confirm anything, but I certainly do not think it would hurt to know.
