week 1 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 1 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Maybe if we can think of a reason why Takao-kun would be outside it can help us some?

It's weird.

11 is a really late time to be out at night when it might be dangerous and any time before 3 is way too early to be out to exercise like he normally does. So why would he be outside? Do you think he was confused about the time...?

I had thought that strange as well. I know that he kept a strict exercise regimen, but he was a sensible person. He would not have gone out for little reason with the situation as tense as it was.

There must have been a reason. But there is not much outside of the hotel. The chapel. The clinic...

And even if his sense of time was messed up, it would have been dark! So he would have known it was really late and more dangerous than being out in the day.

Yes... so it was purposeful that he was out that late. Whether for a reason, or... if someone had called him out.

He needed to get something for himself and met his killer.

Someone called him and he went to meet them.

He went with someone either to help them or so they could help him.... but that person was the killer.

And there is little way to tell which of the situations it is for certain from where we currently stand.

So we need to find out where Takao-kun was and then make sure everyone was really where they said they were... ( Ugh. ) And then make sure they could have really killed him. ( UGH. ) This is a lot of work!

You are working very hard, however, to see that justice is done. You are doing well, and it is admirable.
