week 9 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ friday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

Someone tried to break down your door?

Ghosts. Clover, probably. The ghost didn't seem like it could hold an axe very well and she's pretty short and weak. Also, the only dead person who would want to piss me off this much.
[ a pause and -- ]
Also, the girl always seemed a little axe happy, so. Uh. Yeah.

[ Kind of? She's always been a source of bewilderment for him. Sigh.
Please wait one moment while he looks Rhys over. ] Anyway, putting her aside for now...
You're not hurt anywhere, are you?
no subject
Emotional? Yes, constantly. Physically? No. I hit my head this morning on Dumpy but I always do that.
[ like honestly... so much brain damage here. ]
no subject
As he pauses he tries to get a better look at Rhys' head. As long as he doesn't see or smell blood he'll avoid bringing up the Dumpy thing. ]
Why is that anyway?
no subject
Bad luck, I guess. I don't know. It's like the universe is out to get me or something.
no subject
That's a familiar sentiment. [ His ears and tail lower for just a moment. ] Anyway, the best thing to do at times like those is take it easy. Why don't I go and get you some tea later?
It might cheer you up.
no subject
I'm not... a big fan of tea, but if you've got something sweet I'll take it.
[ rhys the company man and his really big sweet tooth. ]
no subject
Why did he check when he knew he didn't have food on him? ] Sorry, I don't typically keep sweets on me. But there should be something on the refreshment table. I'll go take a look.
[ True to his word, Ranulf heads to the table! He picks up a pastry and comes back to Rhys. Take this, please. Hope you don't mind that he touched it. ] How's this?
no subject
so he's going to take that pastry and give an awkward noise of surprise before going: ]
Th-thanks, man. That's really nice of you.
no subject
[ Ranulf will reach over and pat Rhys on top of the head with a smile. ] I'd like to stay and talk but I have work to do. You stay here and relax, it'll do you some good.
If you need anything else, give me a holler. [ Provided Rhys says nothing, he'll wander off to do other things at the trial. ]
