week 8 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 8 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

[Lithuania will do much the same as Inaba, stopping to take a look at the room in general before entering and messing anything up.]

[ There is the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign hanging clearly on his door knob or whatever.

Once they walk in, they'll notice instantly everything is clean. It... looks like the floors, etc. may be even so clean if one leaned close to it you could see your reflection in it. Maybe. There's a pile of papers neatly stacked in a corner, whereupon one can see a very, very long list of mathematical deductions.

Everything, is of course neatly arranged to complete perfection, if possible.

Do you dare venture into the Demon King's room any further to investigate something in particular? Watch your step... you never know what could be lurking. ]

[ Does she dare? Yes, she dares. There can't possibly be anything bad here. . . maybe. The first thing Inaba decides to check is the closet, along with the dressers. Anything suspicious in here or are we just going to be finding clothes?? She's even checking the pockets, too. Got to be thorough! ]

[Lithuania is glad to see a clean room, honestly. Lithuania will head to the beds--pulling off all the blankets and sheets, overturning the mattresses, and checking under and around the beds. She'll check the nightstand, too--in, on, under, and behind it.

Then she'll remake the beds. Hospital corners included--don't worry, she won't leave a mess.]

Do you have any idea about who might have done it so far?

[ In his drawers there are all black socks or black gloves. Amazing.

As for the closet...

There's just a bunch of clothing with capes, probably. There are also nuts in the pockets. It's possible Dhaos did this purposely at one point or he might just have had a resident troll hanging around here. Who knows.

Although in one set of clothing there is a piece of paper. Read it?

For Lithuania, there is nothing in the beds or anything. For the nightstand, there is a crumpled piece of paper stuffed underneath. ]

I'm not sure just yet, unfortunately. All I know is that it's going to suck if Dhaos is the culprit.

[ For Inaba, she gets... a list. There's no date in particular upon it.

"1. Make sure all are accounted for.
2. Make sure allies are doing alright.
3. Make sure to grab some more lemonade.
4. Attempt to try more at 'cooking'.
5. Try not to get a pancake stuck on the ceiling this time.

[ For Lithuania, it looks a bit older, and has collected dust. It's possible he wrote this earlier on when he arrived, or within an early week. It seems addressed to no one in particular from here, although a letter of some sort.

"It has been so long since I have elected to tell anyone anything, but it must be done. In the hopes it will reach someone on Aselia, I would ask that for once you believe what I have to say.

I hail from a place called Derris-Kharlan, a comet beyond your own world, Aselia, and it was one with a Mana Tree as well. Unfortunately, that Mana Tree was destroyed in a firing of the Mana Cannon, and needs to be reborn with a Mana Seed from your tree. I ask you all to halt development of magitechnology, as it prevents a Mana Seed from being produced, and without it, a billion people from my world will die. You can submit your judgment unto me for what I did, but I ask that you at least find a way to spare or save my people in my stead. Even if I had no other choice, due to Reisen's lies, I will take accountability for my actions.

So I ask you all to put aside your ambitions, even for a little while to do this much..."

[ Unfortunate indeed. Even worse than Hinata's luck at being the only Envy left!! AT LEAST HIS DEATH SHOCKS WERE SPACED AND NOT. All at homes. At least she fucking hopes not. As for anything else to check, the closest thing would be to open the safe. Anything in here?

If not, it's time to head to the bathroom for some clues, checking the sinks, the tub-slash-showever, the vents. ]

Hopefully it won't end up that way. [This letter sure looks like a bunch of weird magic stuff she doesn't understand! She'll put it back where she found it, but she can't help but fold it up in spite of its crumpled state. Lithuania will check under and behind the dresser and behind the clock before checking the window--the top of it, the windowsill, the glass, and the curtains.]

[ There's something in the safe!.

There is a small piece of paper folded into a square that if she should unfold will reveal another small piece of paper that says 'unfold one more' in immaculate writing and so on and so forth. Unfortunately, Dhaos thought it was funny to fold 100 pieces of papers together into a small square, on the chance someone did feel like searching through his safe. Nothing is in there.

There is something in the vents, though. If Inaba peers in. She'll find a piece of paper with another list.

Lithuania doesn't find anything else in particular, however. ]

[ VENTGATE CONTINUES!! And those sure are some symbols. She's kind of curious as to why Hinata's name, of all things, is italicized. Like really? Buddy's bolded name is kind of obvious, as it's the only one there, and Inaba can at least guess at some of this.

Dhaos, a secret troll, what a little shit... but at least her name doesn't say "human" next to it? That's a good sign, isn't it? Quite possibly? Hm. ]

A letter apparently written about his home, but it seems quite old, and I don't think it's relevant. What about you? [Lithuania will check on top of, under, and behind the television! Being thorough is important. She'll check the ironing board, too, and take the cover off to see if he's hidden anything underneath it.]

[ Dhaos is a secret troll, yes.

As for Lithuania... There's some sheet music he placed on top of the TV. One has "SELENA" written on top of it. Another is named "MARZANNA - named by POLAND". Another has "YOITE" written on it. The rest has names written on them too but they're all too crossed out. It's clear though it was just because he may have intending on playing/writing for other people, however.

Other than that? There's nothing else to find! All clear. ladies. ]
