His smile starts out just as warm and distantly amused, but as Undyne keeps reading, it also grows warmer and softer, though there's a definite twinge of regret in his expression.
Just what that regret may be at is harder to guess, since it's definitely not something he wants to elaborate on. Getting these kind of warm words at all is far more than he expected, after all. It's just simply a part of the way that Break thinks and interacts with people that the idea that people would like him enough to leave behind a letter is surprising.
