week 8 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 8 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim   suspects      cast setting rulebook

As for Lithuania... There's some sheet music he placed on top of the TV. One has "SELENA" written on top of it. Another is named "MARZANNA - named by POLAND". Another has "YOITE" written on it. The rest has names written on them too but they're all too crossed out. It's clear though it was just because he may have intending on playing/writing for other people, however.

Other than that? There's nothing else to find! All clear. ladies. ]

[ Surprise it's.......................... a lot of math equations. It's not even his homework, he likes doing this for fun. Someone teach him what actual hobbies are.

There is a disappointing lack of spaghetti in the toilet bowl. There's nothing out of place in the bathroom, like the rest of his room it looks like a stock room.]

[inside the folded letter is a second, smaller folded piece of paper. undyne's letter reads "if i die, take care of my bro. also give this to alphys." look into the second letter, hinata??

the only thing noteworthy about the underneath of sans's beds is how many socks there are. like. why only socks? nothing else comes up, though.

on top of the bedside table is the notepad. it looks like it's recently been in use, though that shouldn't be surprising with all the paper everywhere. inside the drawers are just ... more socks, and also a series of folded notes. they have no names on them or anything.]

( Urashima frowns. He's? A good spirit? He doesn't want to invade someone's privacy but Bill has a good point. Ugh, so he'll just skim through the letter very quickly and-- what's going on? He's so confused and he can't tell if this is a love letter or a hate letter. )

It's... to a friend, I think. ( Maybe not. ) I can't tell... but there's nothing important in it.

( And he'll just return that exactly where he found it and go check out the safe! )

[He doesn't really want to do this, but this goes in the same vein of making Break strip down to his dingle dongle that one time. If he were a culprit, he'd absolutely hide evidence in the place where people might not look. So yeah, he'll open the letter to Alphys, too. Because he's kind of a jerk when it comes to looking at things that might be evidence?]

Some papers, mostly. I think he wrote a... really terrible story about bees. A letter to Undyne and someone named, uh... Al...fist?

[ After all... he stares at the math and goes down memory lane. It takes him a minute to snap out of it and push the pad away. None of the numbers make sense to him, a secret math prodigy he is not.

Since the dog is in the bathroom this is a good time for Ranulf to research the areas the dog looked at, just to confirm what's been found with his own eyes. Once he's done he joins the dog in the bathroom.

Again, gotta confirm everything!! Is there anything else he needs to find here? Is this everything? ]

Oh. And I should probably ask, did you see Clover yesterday morning? [ He pauses. Does the dog need a description of her? A shitty one. ] She's one of the wraths and she's a friend of Undyne's.

[She'll head for the desk first, since she figures Clover's beds wouldn't have gotten much use.] I dunno, we did find a bunch of stuff in the rooms during Cheshire's trial. But I get your--

[And then she turns around just in time to see Break get absolutely covered from head to toe in beautiful pink glitter. There's a brief shocked silence before Undyne fucking loses it, pointing at him and howling with laughter so hard that she can't even speak.]

[The closet has several coats in it, many of them stacked on top of each other on the hangers because Satori gets cold easily. It's not easy coming to a frozen wasteland when you used to have the literal fires of hell in your basement. As with the clothing, these have also had holes cut in them to allow for the third eye.

Inside the safe is...guess what. It's more fucking paper. This, however, is where she keeps her personal writing, and most of it is fiction. Most of the stories involve psychological exploration of her main characters, none of whom are exactly well-adjusted individuals. A few poems are scattered among them, and there are some drafts of the beginnings of a novel, but the vast majority of her writing consists of short stories.

There is a note taped to the back of the safe that reads, "If I've been murdered, remind Miata that she said she would do her best to drop my body by the entrance to Former Hell. This is more important to me than I can possibly express."]

Ah. Well, I'm hardly surprised. It seems as though nearly everyone writes letters to those they care about back home.

[ Hmmm. Astrid is clearly not really focusing on the room search, but she does look around the room for more tempting snacks. It isn't like Poland doesn't have a ton of those...

[ For the second time today, he's really not sure what he expected here. He opens the safe innocently enough, and the sensation of what falls out is confusing to him for a moment, since he still doesn't really understand what glitter is, but. He remembers getting glitterbombed once. He (probably) just got finished getting it all off? And now he's here again?

There's a moment where he just sort of stares in disbelief at the safe, since he can't believe this just happened to him. But then Undyne's starts laughing. ]

[ He turns sharply on his heel as his expression quickly turns to one that's more familiar to Undyne than anyone else by now. It's the stupid, flustered expression of deep offense, but it's not exactly anywhere close to intimidating. With how his face heats up so that red reaches his ears, it's truly an embarrassment. ]

[ But it totally is, though.

Break whips back to the safe, since he decides he's not going to give any further response to this! Though he's also resigned to his fate, so he just pats around in the safe to see if there's anything else in it. He feels the pillowcase and takes it out, at least, and he'll open it up to take out what's inside. ]

meanwhile, the folded papers are just a series of knock knock jokes and puns, all written down. all of them. that's all that's written. a very long one contains something about someone being glad an orange is not a banana. at least 50% of them are bone puns.

[ Is it too late? Probably. He can't exactly leave the dog in Yoite's room like this, but he doesn't know if he wants to wait for it either. He debates waking it up for about a minute before sitting down on the second bed and deciding to wait.

If it takes longer than ten minutes he's going to fall asleep and someone will have to come wake him and the dog up.

[Under Maryla's bed are all Poland's dirty clothes from the week! So Poland sort of cleaned her room. Ish.

Siarka... looks from the donut to the item she's guarding. But. She is a pretty thing! She's coming out and going for the donut awwww yeah.

Now that Siarka has left her post there is a pile of papers under the bed left for the taking.]

[That's all he's got to say to that. Just going to fold that back up and put it back where it was. And waver over the script because that seems like so much work not to get included as evidence, but no... okay... he'll leave it Be.]

[Asks as he wanders into the bathroom, checking the vents, the toilet, the sink, the towels, etc.]

( More paper... she has even more paper than he does which is impressive. Urashima will flip through some of those writings to make sure there isn't anything hidden in those like a confession and then return those. He'l also read the letter out loud for Bill to hear, )
