seven vices case 8 - investigation ♫ friday On Friday morning, nothing happens. It's 10AM, and there are no blackouts or explosions. There's no blood, no objects out of place, no missing guests. Nada. Zip. Zilch. The monitor in the lobby is silent, and Katerina doesn't seem to have anything to say on the matter. On the most desperate of weeks...could someone have actually not taken the initiative? >Mingle? cast setting

[ It also occurs to him that he hasn't seen heads or tails of Urashima as of yet. Where the heck is he as well? He hopes to find him and some evidence if possible.

He just sighs. ]

Indeed. We do not know if someone is feeling like taking another risk.

[ Although if they do, Dhaos will make them regret it if he spots them. He begins to slowly lead the way outside. ]

... I suppose we should just always expect something to occur, regardless of times now, whenever it's come upon this day.

[ People just. Keep it together for a week... ]

We should start with the school-house possibly. I doubt there's anything there, but we are going to want to be thorough. If someone was able to kill someone in such a short of time, it was likely set-up beforehand.

[ There's no other explanation for it, he thinks, and begins to lead Satori towards the school-house. Although, he'll make a stop to look over at the pit to see if there was anything thrown in hastily, before moving on.

He hopes to be finding anyone still missing as well. ]

[Satori is quiet as they walk, contemplating the situation. While Dhaos looks, she just sort of half-heartedly glances around. #SaveTheSloths]

I've always been accustomed to death, but I've gotten so used to this, it's become routine. On Friday we wake up and someone is dead. Life goes on. Except for them, of course.

[dhaosu]

[ Sounds like a very good slogan. ]

... Something like this shouldn't become routine, but it certainly has.

[ One someone could feasibly get used to...although it's not like to be unexpected. But it still makes him feel like it shouldn't be the case. He calls out Urashima's name a few times, when they reach the school, and then... ]

Although this will not go on forever, as we all know. We just have to find a way to end this favorably on our terms, instead of our captors'.

You make it sound so simple.

[She has Doubts about that.]

Even if we all end up dead, I guess that technically isn't going on forever unless all of existence ends the second the last of us dies, so I can't say you're wrong, though.

Only because I only wish it were so.

[ Simplicity? What is that. But he finds reaffirming what they must do helps him prioritize. ]

...Even if I am viewing this realistically and have my own doubts, I am not sure if I want to commit to the outcome of all of us winding up dead. Or focus too much on that possibility too much.

I don't want to commit to it, either, but it is a possibility. One that gets likelier the more people die. The obvious solution is "stop killing each other", but...well. It doesn't look like that's something we can collectively do yet.
