week 8
![]() 21 players remaining ♫ monday - thursday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now boathouse and lake up North Anyone looking for them will also find that Alisha's spear and Sadie's earmuffs are now gone. >Mingle? This is Week 8's mingle log, covering Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Investigations will go up on Friday. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. More plot elements will be introduced this week. Mod comments will be occasionally distributed to open toplevels, accordingly. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |

Well, for killing Chains, I would need my own Chain back for that...! But ah, well. It's for the best that the Mad Hatter is safely away elsewhere, I think.
[ Because Break would not do well, but he won't get into that. ]
Fixing it is the issue, since it's not something I'm capable of doing, or really very many people, for that matter. I'll have to ask Gilbert more about it the next time I get the chance to, since if it's something like what we're familiar with... [ He shrugs, since that either a "we're fucked" or an "I have no idea" ]

Come on, there's gotta be something we can do! How were you guys planning on fixing it back where you came from?
[Then she pauses.]
...hey. You really can talk to ghosts? Is it just Gilbert?

[ He shrugs, since he doesn't want to talk about the fact that his world is about to go to shit and he has no idea how to stop that. ]
Gilbert is the only one that's come to speak with me, but I assume that the others can be spoken with as well. There was that gathering a few weeks ago where— [ He seems to realize where this is going, and he frowns. Also, let him down. ] Please don't challenge Vegeta to a duel.

AND UGH BREAK THAT WASN'T WHAT SHE WAS GOING AFTER AT ALL!! Though she does take a moment to consider it.]
...nah, there's no challenge to fighting a ghost unless they're corporeal. Anyway, that wasn't my point! [She huffs but goes more serious.] Just...if any of them really can talk to any of us, tell Gilbert to tell Lucy that she should talk to Clover. Or...if it's just the two of you who can communicate for now, can you act as a medium for them? It doesn't have to be a real conversation, I just...think that Clover could really use that this week.

[ It's hard for him to tell sometimes, but she definitely sounded more than just casually interested. Which is weird. It felt like he was getting hit on, but like, for murder.
So let's not think about that, and instead, he just looks surprised before he brings his hand up to his mouth thoughtfully. He actually looks a little embarrassed, since that totally hadn't occurred to him at all. ]
...Oh. I'm not sure, actually, but I can mention it to him. I still don't know much about how it works, but so long as Lucy is there, I assume she would? She seemed like a kind girl.

[She hums thoughtfully.] I would have gone with a smug jerk who thinks she's somehow in charge of our team even though anyone with actual pride would do the fighting herself instead of hiding behind her dumb barriers and playing this game at all, but sure, amused works too. She and all her friends are gonna regret ever messing with us, that's for sure.
I bet she would! [Nodding firmly!] Even if she can't speak directly to Lucy for some reason, she can still talk to Gilbert, yeah? And then Gilbert can talk to you and you can tell Clover what she's saying.

[ Even though that's kind of not the case at home, but. Let's actually pretend Break is from a shonen series for once, so he'll show a little optimism there. ]
...But yes, I think that's how it works. Conveying anything complicated is difficult, but—
[ Break pauses, and glances off to his side as if something has caught his attention, but then he sighs. He nods, though it's with a slightly exasperated expression. ]
I think he agrees to try, if I'm understanding correctly.

Really? Thanks Gilbert! You're the best! [And then she proceeds to grab the empty air that Break was glancing at and give it the best approximation she can of a noogie at Gilbert's height. She's just assuming that Gilbert's intrinsic bully magnet means that she can't possibly miss, okay.]
