seven vices week 8

21 players remaining

monday - thursday

Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by Katerina's calm, albeit disinterested, voice.

"Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour."

That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present.

After hearing the motive, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now boathouse and lake up North

Anyone looking for them will also find that Alisha's spear and Sadie's earmuffs are now gone.

unpleasantries: (On top of the water tower)

[This is a story Satori hates the idea of telling. It is one she has never properly told - she's alluded to it, a few times, but she's never come out and said it plainly. Even her pets had to figure out what happened for themselves.]

...When she was no longer able to handle the weight of being hated, she closed her eye. It was my motive, back when what we were offered was the chance to undo a mistake. By ensuring it couldn't work, she trapped herself in her own subconscious. She doesn't feel anything anymore. She left home, went to the surface, and spends all her time up there, looking for things that interest her. I'm not - I'm not sure the sister I had even exists anymore. I can't read her mind anymore. It's always just...silence.

The mistake I wanted to correct was not listening to her cries for help. I thought she would eventually get over it and come to the same conclusion that I did - if people hated us, it didn't matter what we did, and we could do as we wished. But to her, it mattered very much, and she hurt herself because I didn't offer her the support she needed.

[Because she's a terrible person, and a terrible sister. And every day she wakes up and sees the pendant that represents sloth, and she's reminded of how it feels to sit back and do nothing while the only family you have rips her psyche to pieces.]

So...yes. She's always like this. And it's all my fault.

[ It was definitely a lot. His eyes are upon her as he listens, and usually someone would have words of comfort in this situation. Or something to say that would make it all better. Then again, he had asked, after all. ]

...Mm.

You did not have to tell me this, so I thank you for deciding to do so. As one of the few who still have a good head on their shoulders here, I do wish I could offer some words to make it easier to bear.

However, it seems listening will have to do for now. Although, by hearing your words, I feel as if I understand you a bit more, if that does not sound so presumptuous.

[She smiles a little. If Dhaos blinks he'll miss it.]

Maybe a bit presumptuous. But you've certainly done much better than anyone else who's tried, so I'll let it slide.

[Except her family, but they don't count. Because they're family.

And, really, even trying to understand her is better than she gets from most people.]

[ Dhaos tries to frame this moment in memory, shh.

Then he blinks. ]

Ah... good. I was afraid I had possibly even done as much as to cross a line and ruin it all in one fell swoop. It appears I can sleep well knowing that it was an alright attempt.

[ Did he try to make a joke? Ugh he is still terrible at them but he Tried. Or at least, trying to be a bit lighthearted. ]
