...I'd like to introduce you to my pet after I've recovered from this, too...I would have preferred Okuu or Orin, but on Wednesday I received my pet cheetah. She isn't a youkai, but it does help me feel a little safer to have her around.

It certainly isn't the worst thing I've faced by myself, but it's probably in the top ten.

[The other nine are all probably separate encounters with Parsee Mizuhashi, plus the time the Hakurei shrine maiden broke into her house.]

I usually let my pets pick their own names, once they become youkai. That's why Okuu and Orin have different surnames than mine. But I've taken to calling this one Koke, since I need something to call her until then. It means "moss"...that's what her coat reminded me of. Spots of moss.

I see. As for the name...it sounds a little nice, and certainly fitting.

At the very least we received something good out of this foolish mess.
