[ Break got his smack in, but still, once it's confirmed without a doubt for anyone else, he's quite literally shaking with anger. Someone could try and hold him back, but he's probably hanging out with the people that would have no problems if Break was the one to kill her at this point.

This time, the blade does come unlatched, and Break immediately closes the distance between the two of them. He's fast for an old man, and that sword is going right to impale her foot with a hard, brutal motion. It won't kill her if it hits, but it will hurt.

Though luckily, there is mysterious NPC intervention! ]

[ Not differently from Morrigan's execution, there's a flash of light, and the pride sigil flashes on the ground underneath Break. Before he can touch Sadie, a girl half-floating in the air appears, wrapping her arms around his shoulders to restrain him. He won't be able to take another step. ]

Hold your hand. She'll get her due shortly.

[ When he's suddenly stopped, there's a sharp, visceral cry of frustration and surprise, and it's clear that he's continuing to try and push forward to take another step. When she speaks, Break's expression definitely turns to recognition. It seems that he knows who this is. ]

Let me go! I won't be killing this stupid girl, but I will make her suffer!

[vicedirector]

While I admire your dedication and desire for revenge, I can't allow that. [ her voice is sly, with a wild kind of excitement. nothing like how she was a few weeks ago.

she's not angry anymore. she's thrilled. ]

But we can work in a piece of retribution for you.

[ There's a very long moment where Break considers her words. His hands are shaking with how much he really wants to stab her, but he ends up closing his eye in something like being resigned. But when he opens it again, he tries to look back at her the best he can, even if it's only a glance over his shoulder. ]

...No. This retribution only has meaning if it comes from my own hands.

[ He relaxes, at least. He doesn't seem to be trying to attack Sadie anymore, but his expression is definitely one that's extremely cold. ]

That's "pride," isn't it? I've never denied that I live up to my sin, and I won't do so now.

[ there's a pause, as Pridemom is surprisingly taken aback ]

It won't be by your hand. But she will die because of you, Mister Break. Rest assured.

[crazily]

[ It definitely seems like he's comforted by that idea, though it doesn't show by much more than a relaxing of his expression. He nods, but he has nothing else to say at this point, so once he'd freed, he'll just go wait for the execution in silence. ]

[Well Undyne's holding herself back from attacking Sadie for Break's sake, but she feels no qualms about pridemom. She summons a spear and hurls it at her head - her aim's good enough that it won't risk hitting Break along the way.]

Let go of him! You're supposed to represent pride, aren't you?! Then you should let him satisfy his by getting justice on the person who killed his friend with his own two hands! As long as she's still alive for her execution, there aren't any of your dumb rules against it!

I'm with Undyne on this. She talked shit about Pride the entire trial, and tried to make it out like we'd do this. She killed Alisha. She killed Break's best friend. For the stupidest reason ever.

[ Astrid unstraps the axe from her back, holding it one-handed and glaring. ]

Let him at her. He isn't going to kill her. He deserves to make her hurt, though.

I don't doubt that. As I've said, however, I can't allow it. Belphegor would have my hide if he was robbed of his prize, and I can't take that chance on my honor.

Who the Hel's Belphegor and why should I care?!

[ An electric field around her and Break deflects it immediately. No dice. ]

Unfortunately, that's not how this game works. As amusing as it would be, I don't believe I can quite trust you all to not beat her to death in the heat of the moment.
