week 7 - trial; day 2

seven vices case 7 trial, day 2

sunday

At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying.

Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries.

The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells.

At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes.

so... going by that theory, he saw her die?
detanimetion: (serious)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-04 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
If that's what happened, then...

If Gilbert had been too busy looking at the pool, it would have been easy for the killer to sneak up behind him and take him out without him ever getting the chance to fight back.
thebonezone: ...the joke's less funny when the punchline is true huh (used to be a banker but i lost interest)

[personal profile] thebonezone 2016-04-04 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
that's what i figured. but then where'd the blood in the lobby come from?
detanimetion: (disgusted)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-04 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
...his head and his hand.

[Undyne covers her mouth, actually looking disturbed.] She...must have chopped them off just so she could pretend that was where the real murder happened. Or maybe just as a sick joke. Who knows at this point and who cares.
thebonezone: unrelatedly sans is so into stars u gaiz (it's pasta bedtime)

[personal profile] thebonezone 2016-04-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
it's important. if we go by that theory, how'd she get the spear? did alisha throw it before jumping into the pool?
detanimetion: (considering)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-04 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
She had to have, didn't she? She was missing her shoes. If she wouldn't swim with her shoes on, why would she take a spear into the pool with her? It'd just weigh her down.
thebonezone: he's, uh, he's all right now. (some guy got his left side cut off)

so she takes off her shoes and throws the spear away, jumps in the pool, gets electrocuted and the power goes out. she's still not dead then, so gilbert tries to get to her, the murderer picks up the spear and gets him while he's distracted?

so what's with the written letters? tryin' to frame rhys?
detanimetion: (serious)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-04 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
[She shrugs.] Why bother taking Gilbert's head to the record store at all? If it's not the killer trying to frame someone, then it's probably just a distraction and another sick joke. If the letters really were pointing to the killer, then they would have seen it and tried to wash it off. It's not like they didn't have any water nearby.
thebonezone: he's, uh, he's all right now. (some guy got his left side cut off)

[personal profile] thebonezone 2016-04-04 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
so everything's just a distraction set-up to lead away from the real culprit?
detanimetion: (angry smile)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-04 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
You have a better idea? Because we don't have much time left, so let's hear it! There's no way we're letting this killer get away!
thebonezone: i need to branch out of skeleton puns (his favorite art form is skulltures)

[personal profile] thebonezone 2016-04-04 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
...nope. but i think everyone's been quick to jump on conclusions this weekend.

[he's just worried emotions are doing the talking... but the personality point w/ sadie works for him since. he, a lazy person, can attest to 100% being able to go batshit. oops]
