week 4 - trial; day 2
![]() ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? Hm? Oh, yes, it's a type of jewelry common on Eldar. There's translation technology in them as well, but apparently that's completely irrelevant here.
[Much...to his surprise the first time he realized it. He unfastens them and hands them over.]
You're more than welcome to inspect them, of course, but if I were going to hide something in there, it would have to be incredibly small and thin...
[Because......now that the cuffs are off, it's clear that his ears are very much the same shape as as the cuffs themselves. There's not really a whole lot of excess room in there.]

[ She's never seen ear cuffs???? Why is this a thing. But she does look them over mostly to see wtf is up with them rather than to check for like, a murder note or weapon. WEIRD. ]
We don't wear things like this back home? Well, some people have ear jewelry, but it's different.

[WHAT'S UP he's not allowed to strip Faize but no one said he can't come in, he's a dude? And Faize is apparently a human dude on top of being Eldarian, who knew.
Just takes a second to glance over Faize for any obvious EVIDENCE before adding,]
I just... wanted to confirm something. Faize, did you injure Urashima during the week?

[Faize cuts off mid-sentence and jumps a little bit because DAMMIT HINATA. KNOCK??? He's mostly naked.]
[At least now Hinata has solid proof that Faize is, indeed, male. Sorry, man. No titties here. Just stringy swordsman muscle.]
Yes, actually. It was rather odd. We sparred on Wednesday because we are both immune and incapable of hurting one another but...one of my strikes manage to hit him on the hand. We made several attempts to try and determine what happened, but...neither of us were capable of injuring one another.

[ Astrid pipes up, frowning. ]

[And then a thoughtful glance toward Astrid. A GOOD POINT ABOUT THE ALARMS.]
It wasn't at the same time as that air raid siren, was it?

No, not that early in the morning. It was closer to four pm, I believe.
As for the kind of strike, it was a thrust that resulted in a small cut on the back of his hand. Not terribly deep, but enough to draw blood.
