week 4 - trial; day 2
![]() ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? ( And he'll draw his sword (with his right hand, even) and show it to Hinata. It's 33.9 CM (or about 13 inches). )
I can use it with both hands if I want to but I normally only have to use one.

[He doesn't take the sword, but he does move a few steps over to take a closer look at it, nodding.
...Then looking suddenly uncomfortable.]
Um... would you say that a shorter blade would be... easier to slit someone's throat with than a longer one?
no subject
It would depend how close they had to be. If they were far away, a longer blade would work but then they'd have to hit the neck, which is a much smaller target to hit. If they were really close, though, they'd have to use a shorter blade.

It either points to a shorter weapon, or someone who's incredibly skilled at using a long-range weapon.
...Can a spear be used for slicing?

( Heh heh, this really is awkward. )
If they fight like my friends back home, they wouldn't have an advantage or a disadvantage. ( So lkind of like, "eh". ) But I saw Faize fight this week and I think he needs a bigger space to be effective.
I think.... we're looking for a shorter blade. ( And because he knows whhat Hinata might be thinking or might ask next, he adds, ) I'm very good at fighting in doors and in small places but it wasn't me. I've never killed anyone before and I'd never change time.
If I changed time, I'd never get to see my brothers again.

Normally, I'd be able to tell but... I've been a little weird, here. ( It's weird to explain. ) I think I'm more human than I was before. My connection feels really dull. I normally have it with me all the time though. I even have it with me when I sleep.

[At least what little he's overheard, his mun hasn't been reading every thread.]
I'm just... trying to get as much information as possible. I really mean it, I think once we have all the clues... we'll be able to work our way to the truth.

( That's his ultimate wish. )
If I changed the past... the people my master works for would probably take me away as soon as they found out.
