[ [ After Mikazuki finishes speaking with everyone, the fire roars, so loudly and brightly that everyone will be temporarily blinded. When everyone's vision returns, Mikazuki will be gone--but he will be visible within the fire just like the list before.
The scene opens with two full moons hanging bright in the sky over an open field. Mikazuki stands alone in the field with his sword at his side. The wind blows and grotesquearmyappears.
Mikazuki smiles serenely and draws his blade, eyes glowing as bright as the moons in the sky before charging into the enemy’s frontline. Mikazuki is a skilled swordsman, easily cutting down enemy after enemy without breaking so much as a sweat and when all is done, he stands alone in the field again, surrounded by broken bones, armor, and swords. The battle is over but he doesn’t put away his sword just yet.
From the sky, a childish laugh is heard and Mikazuki raises his sword in time to catch a small dancing spirit. It dances around, skipping about to the point it is almost impossible for Mikazuki to keep up. When he’s finally close enough to strike, a giant appears and sets him back and then another pair of monsters with great swords move in.
Mikazuki appears taken aback for a second, eyes growing wide as if he recognizes the spirits but he steels himself. Once again, he moves in for the attack and though this battle is much harder than the last but he presses forward.
Above, the first and second moon begin to wane until the battle ends with Mikazuki standing victorious but not alone under a passing lunar eclipse.
The wind dies down, leaving a strange lull in its wake.
In the midst of an endless battlefield, a grotesque new enemy appears from a rift, emitting a blue, spiritual light. Though it looks the same as other spirits Mikazuki has fought, this one lacks the wild and angry energy of the earlier armies. As it draws its sword, the blue light flickers and the spirit reveals itself as a second Mikazuki but this one is missing the original’s smile and his eyes dark like the other side of the moon.
The emotionless reflection attacks.
This is Mikazuki’s third battle and he begins to wear down. The battle is over almost too fast and it ends with the original down on his knees and laughs, still smiling as blood spills from his lips, “Well, all things are doomed to perish one day. That day happens to be today - that is all there is to it.”
The moons in the sky are fully eclipse and the reflection’s skin begins to crack and shatter revealing the hideous, skeletal true form underneath. It grows and grows and grows until a giant monster looms over Mikazuki. It’s jaw opens large and wide and the monster swoops down on Mikazuki, devouring him.
The image slowly fades from view, until the fire is simply a fire, again. ]
