It's almost the opposite of what happened with SERN's time machine, but still similar; what she's staring at is clearly decomposed at a molecular level, but not quite one of those horrific Jellymen, but almost worse, a natural deterioration, her body putrefying and degrading before her until nothing remains.
She can't imagine what that sensation must be like. She definitely doesn't want to. She's her father's daughter, though, and the theoretical physicist in her can't stop thinking about it, nor can the neuroscientist.
It isn't too long before she starts to feel guilty about thinking about this so scientifically, but if she let her emotions take over, she doesn't know what sort of maelstrom will erupt. So maybe it's better this way, better to be cold, even with this blazing fire before her. ]
