week 1 - trial; day 1

seven vices case 1 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim suspects         cast setting rulebook

I care. You don't- [He's raising his voice at this point which is a mistake. On most days, he didn't talk more than 10-15 minutes continuously. It's been way longer than that, today.

He gasps and coughs, retching. It's not a pretty sight, though he tries to cover his mouth with his hands. When he's done, there's a large blotch of blood on his gloves.]

It is clear that enough was told. The two likely had a conversation about their lives, outside of here, I presume, and to that end, I think that is a good enough of a conclusion to make. With that said, there is nothing to gain from pushing this further.

She takes half a step forward like she means to do something, pauses, and before she can decide whether or not she should help, Dhaos is already between them. Oh good, someone definitely deservingly awful for her to direct her anger at!!]

Seriously? You're an idiot if you think there's nothing important to get out of this. [But the clock chimed and everyone's starting to shuffle out of the building and she's fuming, but all of this shit and her own anger over it has exhausted her enough that she doesn't even want to yell anymore.

She does glance briefly around Dhaos to see what's up with Yoite, someone should probably do something about this kid, and storms right the hell out of this.]

( He really does see where she's coming from but it still doesn't sit well with him. He's pretty adamant about letting the suspects say a piece for themselves or something. )

Ah... maybe we can let them say what they want to and we can ask them more questions from there? And then they can answer as best as they can... that way they everyone gets a turn to say what they think needs to be said.

( Not that they aren't kind of doing that right now but maybe a chance to do a more formal interview would be nice. )

A few people on the suspects list can fly... They must have gotten down the same way they got up, whether it's that they flew, or...climbed...somehow.

[ He glares at her comment as she leaves, not finishing there, and deciding that yeah, even if she'll just go off without helping the poor kid, he would try himself if allowed or make sure he just gets back okay on the way back. ]

A normal person would say thank you, but those words don't come to him. He does however, offer a small nod at Dhaos, grateful even if he won't say it.

After a moment he composes himself enough to walk off, albeit slowly.]
