EXECUTION: ......................
Bill wakes up in a large, empty, and very monotonous white room. As he realizes where he is, he starts to get up but finds himself helplessly bound to a black chair in the center of the room. Is it the center? It’s hard to tell with how perfectly white the room is. Bill struggles for a moment and then resigns himself, leaning back in the chair and tries to take in his surroundings. He can’t even see where the walls meet the floor because even the light is perfectly white. The only sound in the room is a high pitched but quiet electrical humming.
He sits there... and he sits there... and he sits there...
...For even longer still. Just as he’s beginning to get bored, the sound breaks. Somewhere in the room--no, everywhere around him--he can hear shuffling and shifting like someone moving around somewhere. Someone clears their throat and a voice begins to read in the driest voice imaginable.
This goes on... and on... and on... and on...
At first, Bill laughs and makes snide comments, having a hopelessly one sided conversation with the bodiless voice in the room. Not once does the voice ever stop nor does it ever make any mistakes, reading each thing flatly and perfectly without pause.
Bill begins to become agitated and starts to struggle against the magical force holding him down.
Finally, he manages to break free--or rather, he’s set free--and he kicks the chair over, waving so long to the voice and heading... Well, in a direction. It’s not like he has much of a choice in this place so he sets off in a random direction and tries to find a way out of this boring hell.
The voice goes on… and on… and on…
As Bill travels, he tries to learn all that he can about this place which really isn’t much. At one point, he comes to the stunning, infuriating realization that room isn’t even white; it’s off white. And that’s it. That’s literally all there is to learn in this place. There’s nothing else to do.
Frustrated, he continues to travel, growing more and more bored as his time continues. Really, it’s a miracle he’s even been able to make a game of this for as long as he could. He can’t even make anything out of the phonebook reading that has still never ended.
When he can’t take it anymore, he begins to run, trying to find an end to this place if not a way out but there’s nothing. This place is nothing.
Bill lets out an enraged scream and begins to scratch at his face, his arms, and legs, pulling at his hair, ripping at his clothes, and literally tearing at himself in shreds. Shreds? Bill laughs. He isn’t even three dimensional in this world. This world is boring, off white, monotonous, and flat.
When its’s over, all that’s left is the shredded, torn pieces of Bill on the floor.
