week 6
![]() 24 players remaining ♫ monday - sunday Monday morning begins just like the rest, slow and uneasy. At 12pm, every television will go off with its usual bout of static, followed by a calm, albeit disinterested, voice. "Please gather in the hotel lobby within the next hour." That's all that it says before the televisions turn off. Anyone not in their rooms will hear the voice echoing around them as if through a speaker system, although there are (still) no speakers present. After that...announcement, characters who choose to explore will find that the void around the town has retracted a bit, and there is now a record store next to the clothing store. On the chapel wall near the altar, black and white portraits of Cheshire and Lucyhave been hung up. Anyone looking for it will find that Lucy's machete is now gone. >Mingle? This is Week 6's mingle log, covering Monday to Sunday. As this is a breather week, there will be no investigation or trial. When posting toplevels, specify the time and location. If you plan on having any private conversations between characters, remember to let us know in the post linked below. setting rulebook profiles private conversations |
Monday
I don't know. [ He tilts his head, looking at the record curiously.] Is it one of those things you throw? [ He's probably seen a Frisbee once or twice, but he's more than likely thinking it's an incredibly ineffective shuriken.]

[ It's just them in here so he aims at the wall to test it's durability. He made sure to hold back too, but. It breaks. ]
I...suppose not?
no subject
It's too fragile, it would need to be enhanced. [ A beat.] Are they all the same?
no subject
[ Dhaos swears they are not menances, he is just curious after he watches Yoite throwing another. Then he moves to grab another, and toss.
Predictably it shatters. ]
Hm, three so far. Yet they are all divided into different categories. Surely, they can't all be the same.
no subject
Five. [He's almost having fun, even if they aren't getting any closer to figuring out what the actual purpose of the records are.]
no subject
Looks like they might all be the same. However, we certainly can't tell unless we test all of them, correct?
[ Dhaos wouldn't admit it, but it's nice to let go once in a while. And it's not like they're causing anyone an inconvenience. He almost feels a smile as he picks four (two from classical, one from heavy popular, and one from foreign) and throws them towards the poster. His aim is less exact, but they shatter all the same. ]
Nine.
no subject
Right. [ Taking more than two at a time is pretty unwieldy (and the gloves do make it a bit more difficult), but he can do something else. This time when he throws the records they crisscross mid-arc, bouncing off each other before flying towards the center of the poster.
...it almost reminds him of playing baseball with Tsukasa.]
Eleven.

You're much more graceful at this than I am. Did you practice?
[ His attempt at a joke-- kinda. The blond tosses two more straight after, and they just managed to sail in a straight line, crashing and breaking all over the floor with the rest. ]
13.

There's the part of my profile... [ Weeks ago when Takao had asked, he had told him that it had been years, which was the truth. But those skills came in handy when he picked up shuriken training during his initial year with Grey Wolves, so it was a bit of a lie. The records were lighter than what he was used to, but it wasn't anything he couldn't compensate for.]
It's just how you move your wrist. [ He picks up a pile of records now, stacking them one on top of each other. One after the next he flicks them into the wall, focusing more on speed than accuracy. They land one after another with a bit more variance than before, but with more force.]
Eighteen.

[ Dhaos looks at Yoite carefully as he picks up quite a few. Although since he's focusing on speed, he figures he would follow the same. He just picks up four more. He wonders what his goddess would think if she saw him doing something like this. ]
Twenty-two. Perhaps we should start trying to see who can successfully strike at what object more.
no subject
Pick any target you want. [ He reaches to pick up one more and throws it, but this time it arcs back to him and he catches it.]
Twenty-two still.
no subject
That object. Likely some form of deranged magitech.
[ He tosses two immediately afterwards-- one clips the top of the speaker and the other hits the speaker square, shattering into a myriad of pieces. ]
Twenty-four.
no subject
It's a speaker... I think. [ Those at least he had seen, even if he doesn't know what the record player is.
Yoite follows Dhaos' example and picks up two records, though he doesn't throw them immediately. Rather he tilts his head, trying to figure out the best angle to go about throwing them. When he's sure he tosses them: they land pretty much dead center.
He seems satisfied enough, but he lets out a small sigh.]
Twenty-six.
no subject
[ Oh Yoite...
He hears the small sigh, and blinks, before looking forward. He can do better than his own last throw and he knows it. To make up for what occurred last time, Dhaos takes three, and tosses them. One skims along the top somehow before shattering and one hits just below before the other one flies straight into the player. ]
Twenty-nine.
no subject
Like before he follows the example Dhaos sets and grabs three records. The first two hit like all the others, dead in the middle. The third however goes wide and misses the speaker entirely.
If Yoite was the type to curse he would, but instead he looks to the side visibly upset. It was an easy shot and he missed it-- he's breathing just a bit heavy too.]
...Thirty-two.
no subject
After throwing another two, they sail straight into the speaker, and then he straightens, looking at Yoite. ]
I believe that is enough for now. You seem to have gained quite a high point advantage over me and therefor you are the victor...
Of course, I also have something for you as a result.
no subject
At this point he's sure Dhaos has noticed, but thankfully the other doesn't say anything.]
Yeah... [ He perks up a bit at the latter half of the statement.]
What do you mean?
no subject
Come this way. I shall give you a hint, it involves a certain drink that you like.
[ He begins to make his way out of the record store, but taking his time in doing so, as he surely had noticed the strain it was putting upon the boy. He is just actually good at being subtle. ]
