week 1 - trial; day 1
![]() ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? setting rulebook |

[ good job rhys you aren't completely useless ]
If we refer back to the profile cards, several of the suspected are much older than they appear to be; perhaps they murdered due to the shackles of time weighing on them too heavily, gone mad from the ebbs in time's flow.

About four hundred, for me...o-of the suspects, that would be Youko-san, Houraisan-san, and I.

[ channeling her mother, here. ]
'Tis most pitiful.

I am bitter. I will not deny that. [ ... ] But it is not because of my age.
no subject
Do not let me impede on your bitterness, then, hag.

Is everything that you say for the purpose of hurting someone?

It was something like that, yes.
[ youko's tone is dry and stiff.
she'd really rather forget about that. ]

...and you must have a worse week than her, anyway.
gently placing her hand over hanyuu's own and squeezing lightly :( ]

thank you, morrigan. he doesn't really need to say more than that. ]

but for now, +5 approval ]

If they'd gone mad, maybe that's why this murder is so weird and none of these clues make any sense! [probably...not...but oh well she's trying okay]
no subject
'Tis possible. I also suggest that many of us here are seasoned murderers. Hundreds of years of murder would make one comfortable with it, able to throw suspicion to another. This murder does not seem wholly clumsy. There was at least some planning involved, and the usage of poison points to a woman's crime.
[ medicinal drugs aren't exactly poison, but what the hell is benadryl anyway ]

Hey, what's that supposed to mean? I'm a woman and I'd never use something as weak as poison!
no subject
[ a small smile. ]
Do not worry. I'll reserve my suspicions for you for an especially messy corpse.

Oh...well, good! [feathers getting unruffled!] As long as you know I'd never stoop to killing someone in such an underhanded way.
