Yeah...if people could just stop murdering that'd be one thing. Just stop looking at the motives? Or maybe if we threatened to kill the entire group they'd step back. Not actually do it, mind you, but put the people in charge in a desperate situation. "Free us or we kill all of us and you won't have us to play with anymore." Sure there's that two kill rule, but if we divide it up well enough that won't be a problem and it'd be easy to argue, you know? Bet we could have 'em scared with something like that.
