week 5 - day 1 trial

seven vices case 5 trial, day 1 ♫ saturday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn. Everyone will be escorted back to the hotel by Miata, after which everyone is allowed to head to either the kitchen to get dinner, or to their rooms. Attempting to wander off into the other areas of the hotel will trigger the static alarms in everyone's heads/televisions. >Discuss? victim suspects VOTING cast setting rulebook

Yes. It's clear enough that we aren't friends, but I would be surprised if the cat had removed that collar. It's quite a bit more than simply that, though it doesn't quite matter here.

Yeah. I'd ask more if one of you were a suspect, but since you aren't, I doubt anyone else would care...aside from the fact he wouldn't remove it on purpose. That helps.

Thankfully, our differences are entirely irrelevant this time around.

[ Because that sure does muddle things... Break is definitely glad that neither of them are a suspect this week, that's for sure. ]

But it's still odd. The fact that the cat would remove it at all is... [ He frowns and shakes his head. ] I had to fight the cat for it once before. It's not something that would be taken off lightly, that much I'm certain of.

So, file that under "mystery we actually have to solve". I don't have any guesses myself...I never talked to the guy. Well, we tried to kill one another when we got here, I guess? But that was it.

Besides the obvious one, yes.

[ He sighs ]

Though if it's as simple as the cat just leaving it somewhere for safekeeping, that would definitely be preferable.

I don't see why he'd suddenly start doing that now, so many weeks into this shit.

Nor do I, but I wouldn't discount the possibility from a simple creature.

[ No, Break just hates Cheshire... Don't actually listen to him. ]

But it's more likely that it was intentionally removed, but that's strange too. I can't think of the cat removing it for anything but a very good reason, and at least so far as I know, none of the suspects would exactly know the significance. Even if they did, it'd be useless to them.

Gilbert said it was someone's memories or something, right? I agree that sounds really super useless to all of us.

Would he have told anyone about what it really was, I guess...?

[ He shrugs, since he doesn't mind admitting this since he's not a suspect... ]

He wasn't wrong to be worried that Gilbert or I might take it. But if he was telling someone its significance, I'd only imagine it would be to make sure that it was kept safe.

So maybe someone's trying to keep it safe for him. Or something.

It's a possibility, yes.

[ But just because this is a weird thing about threading, he won't comment like "BUT NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING" because someone could totally know and just have not seen this...

If only to see where the bell may have gone, they seem necessary, yes. Perhaps we'll actually find something of use in someone's room this time, hm~?
