week 4 - trial; day 2

seven vices case 4 trial, day 2 ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? victim   suspects      VOTING cast setting VOTING TENTATIVELY CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT CST.

Hmm...yeah, it is kinda weird he'd ask to room with you and not someone who'd probably be a deeper sleeper if he was planning on killing that night.

I...just really don't think it's Break. Not unless Selena was the one targeting him.

You just don't want to get hit with any bizarre side effects after he's executed.

[But Vegeta doesn't sound convinced either.]

Please, I can handle anything this town throws at me! I won't even notice a weak thing like that!!

But Break would have a pretty hard time setting up all the framing, you have to admit! Especially with the glitter, he didn't even know what it was when we dumped it over him, how would he know which jars it was kept in? And...Gilbert really doesn't think he'd go after this motive. I know any of us might be lying, but when it's someone who isn't even on the suspect list....

That one definitely isn't involved, otherwise he'd be a suspect. So if anyone helped Break it was one of us.

I...don't think any of us would have helped Break. Especially since it's not like last week where the motive was affecting everyone. Only the killer would get the reward so there's no point.

[STEPPIN IN TO BREAK-STAN as usual.]

It wasn't Break, but if Selena was the one targeting him, the plan we've thought up so far wouldn't have worked at all either. As in - there's no way Break would willingly accompany anyone outside at that hour, not even on a day earlier in the week.

A day ago, we probably would have said the same thing about Selena too though. You can't say that for sure.

No one here has known Selena as long as I've known Break, either. I can't think of a single reason why he would go alone with anyone at that time of day. And if she somehow did have a ridiculously compelling reason, which I doubt, he would have asked me to come with them for the sake of safety. I know you only have my word to go off of here, but I'm entirely sure about this.

[Break is too Break for him to believe otherwise...]
