week 4 - trial; day 2

seven vices case 4 trial, day 2 ♫ sunday At 9AM, every television will go off, loud enough to wake anyone sleeping. The calm, apathetic voice will advise everyone to gather in the chapel for the trial. Static will continue to blare in the head of anyone dillydallying. Once all of the guests have gathered in the chapel, the doors will lock. Most of the pews have been moved aside to allow for more space, and a few tables have been set up on the altar. On the first, there is an additional copy of the rulebook, and the information cards of the victim and suspects laid out, with space for the suspects to provide their whereabouts, as well as an autopsy report. There is also a large wheeled chalkboard upon which you may write theories. On the second table is a pitcher of water and some glasses, as well as very simple sandwiches and pastries. The door behind the altar has finally been unlocked. It's a rather plain room with an area set off by a folding screen. Inside, you will find a table on which the victim's body has been laid out. Next to the table, two black and white photographs have been hung on the screen. they are close ups of the victim's body, as it was found when the body discovery announcement chimed. A few sticks of incense burn in the corner to avoid any smells. At 6PM, the trial will adjourn, after which everyone is expected to have cast their votes. >Discuss? victim   suspects      VOTING cast setting VOTING TENTATIVELY CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT CST.

[There's a long silence where she just stares at him, stunned. Her suspicions had been building this entire trial, ever since Gilbert had defended Break so strongly and she'd seen that damn glitter...but.

She hadn't actually wanted to believe it up until this moment.]

This was my opportunity to reclaim my pride and honour. But I don't expect you to understand that.

[She snarls, slamming the end of her spear into the ground so hard that it cracks.] If you really were the strongest in the universe, you wouldn't rely on this town to fix your mistakes for you - not after all it's done to the people here and everything we've been through! [Undyne sways on her feet, taking a step back as if Vegeta actually hit her.]

That's...it? You wanted your power back? That's all? [She'd been yelling at the top of her lungs before, but now her voice is quiet.]

[ He would try to cast a spell, but there are too many people here. And even though Dhaos doesn't look tough, he does have superhuman strength. So he believes he can make an attempt at shutting him up for a second.

He pulls his fist back and is about to let it fly. ]

Dhaos. [ He doesn't make a move to stop him and he's not yelling-- he just wants the other to not get completely caught up in the moment, to be sure that's what he really wants. Yoite's not the type to judge either way.]

[ Surprisingly, Dhaos can hear the other's voice over his moment of rage, and in that moment, the man grits his teeth. He desperately wishes to hit something, but, really... succumbing to his own hatred and anger... would that make anything better? Would that bring Selena back?

He's bitter, for a moment, that Selena died for this. For some moron's pride and fake honour. Even if she were a human, she was kind, and treated him like a person... not some Demon King despite what she saw on his Designation. Still, was everything he did in vain? ]

...Yoite. I am tired.

[ That is all he says, and he hopes that is understandable in some manner. He closes his eyes for a second and releases a shuddering sigh. ]

It was a long trial [Weren't they all? But he understands if he thinks back to the first week when Takao was murdered.] but we found the right killer. [ Which was the most important thing, he believes. He hopes that comforts Dhaos, at least.]
